Gillian was born and grew up in Healesville and she did have reverence for all life. Gillian was involved with animals throughout her life and was a caring person and friend to many around the district.
Gillian trained as a vet nurse and at the time of her death she was the clinic manager at a veterinary clinic in Montrose. Her reputation as a skilled, compassionate and experienced worker was known within the industry and Gillian was sought after by a number of vet clinics to work at their venues.
Gillian narrowly survived the 2009 bushfires, fighting to protect her family’s home and farm animals, yet tragically died on the 7th of February 2012, age 31.
The aim of Gillian’s Rainbow Bridge is to continue Gillian’s legacy of caring for people and animals, and this was reported in the local Healesville paper:
